Privacy Policy

Overview
ADSB-ME is two apps: an instructor trainer on iPhone and iPad, and a native Apple Watch companion (also independent). Together they can host synthetic ADS-B for a ground station, overlay live traffic, and alert when aircraft enter a cylinder you set. We collect only what is needed to run the apps on your devices. We do not sell personal data. There are no ads and no analytics identifiers.

iPhone & iPad
The phone app centres the training map, hosts the SBS server, stores scenarios, and can sync Monitor settings to a paired Watch. Location queries for live ADS-B leave the device only as a lat/lon + radius to the aggregator you select — not to our servers. LAN traffic to QGroundControl or ARACE GCS stays on your network.
Apple Watch
The Watch app uses Watch GPS to centre the radar/map and to measure the Monitor cylinder. It can fetch live ADS-B itself when running independently. Settings and, when the iPhone is nearby, simulated tracks may sync via WatchConnectivity. Always location is requested only if you enable Monitor so alerts can fire when the app is not on screen. The Watch does not host the training server.

Data we do not collect
No user accounts, advertising identifiers, contacts, photos, or microphone. No continuous background location unless you turn on Monitor on iPhone or Apple Watch. The training server on the phone runs in the foreground only.
Location is when in use by default. Always is requested only if you enable Monitor. Deny Always and alerts only fire while that app is on screen.
Third parties & attributions
Map tiles and live ADS-B load over HTTPS from providers you select or that the map requires. Those requests include a viewport or a lat/lon + radius — not a continuous GPS track to our servers. We do not operate a cloud backend that receives your location or scenarios.
Live traffic sources
adsb.fi — Aircraft positions from adsb.fi open data. Cite adsb.fi when this source is selected. Personal / non-commercial use. Not for navigation or ATC. adsb.fi
adsb.lol — Aircraft positions from the adsb.lol community network. Data is contributed by volunteer ADS-B feeders and may be delayed, incomplete, or unavailable. Not for navigation or ATC. adsb.lol
airplanes.live — For personal, non-commercial awareness only. Credit airplanes.live when this source is selected. Listed in-app as coming soon. airplanes.live
ADS-B Exchange — Planned as a future source. Not connected yet.

Children’s privacy
ADSB-ME is intended for aviation training instructors and adult trainees. It is not directed at children under 13.
Your choices
- Deny location and centre the phone map or Watch radar yourself.
- Deny local network on iPhone or iPad and a GCS cannot connect.
- Leave Monitor off and neither phone nor Watch will request Always location.
- Delete the apps to clear local scenarios and preferences.
